    Flag hoisting, playing national anthem mark Independence day celebrations in Pak High Commission

    NEW DELHI : Hoisting of flag, playing national anthem, speech contests and national songs featured the Independence Day celebrations in Pakistan High Commission here on Thursday. Afrasiab, Acting Pakistan High Commissioner hoisted national flag with the playing of national anthem. Messages of the President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani were read out on the occasion.

    Students of Pakistan High Commission school presented national songs while speech contests were also held among them highlighting importance of the day.

    Later Sweets were distributed among the children.

    Officers and staff members of High Commission and their family members attended the Independence Day celebrations.
